A new year, a new beginning

One of my resolutions for 2015 is to blog at least 15 times a month.
I know this blog is called "Midnight Crochet" but, I will also be posting knitting and other things.
My first project of 2015 was "Windy City Hat" by Jodi Haraldson. The pattern can be found at http://caffeinatedyarn.blogspot.com/2008/08/pattern-windy-city-hat.html .
I made mine in Austermann Bambou Soft in the eggplant color way. It is such a dark purple it reads almost black in low light.
Today I made a "100 Chains Infinity Scarf" with Red Heart Super Saver in White and Variegated Blues color ways.
I also cast on a dishcloth in Peaches & Creme in White and BlueBerry color ways.
I will post pictures when I get them uploaded.

Finished Objects, June 2012

Swaps received May, 2012

This was from nurseleslie, in South Carolina, I believe. It was the Chocolate and Green Spring Swap. 3 Skeins of  Berroco Vintage in Mistletoe, Chocolate Granola, Chocolate lotion and lipgloss, Handmade Book, Shamrock Keychain, & card. This was a secret swap, so I received from someone different from whom I sent. I sent to Rumplstiltskins.

This was from jladybug671, in West Jordan, Utah. It was the "Swap a Month" May Flowers Swap.
My choice of flower was yellow rose. I received a pair of  Yellow Rose Dishcloths, Bernat Baby Fingering Yarn in white. A yellow flower crocheted bookmark which I found inside the book Mary and Elisabeth, and a nice card with yellow roses on it.

Finished Objects April 2012

Well, it has been a while but let me catch up by posting some FO's to look at.
Dishcloths in Lime and Navy. These were sent to Rumplestiltskin in Logan, Utah.
Lacey Fingerless Gloves in Pink. They were sent to jladybug671 in West Jordan, Utah
Join as You Go Scarf in Lt. Blue, Frosty Green, and Purple. It went into the gift grab box.

Sunshine Shells Afghan

Hi Again!
So, I've not been crocheting much lately. I made 3 afghans over the summer for new babies at church. I neglected to make pictures of them, though. I also made one for the girl at work who just had a baby in January.

Anyway, I'm back to crocheting. And I'm working on not 1 but 2! afghans.
The first I am calling Sunshine Shells. I started it on February 27, and I am doing it for a CAL on Ravelry. It needs to be completed by March 31.

I am doing 10 row stripes of Bright Yellow and Soft White RHSS. The end sections will be 11 rows. I plan on doing 9 stripes total.

Round Dishcloths!

Today's patterns are easy peasy dishcloths;
I did them in a beige cotton that was given to me. I don't know the size but I think it is size 3.
Utility dishcloths are an easy way to use up "volunteer" threads. It doesn't matter the weight or size of the thread or yarn.

Round dishcloth was made with a standard increasing flat circle pattern.
Round 1: Start with a "magic circle" chain 3, Crochet 12 dc in circle, join to 1st dc with ss.
Pull circle tight. (12 dc)
Round 2: Chain 2, 2 dc in each dc around. Join with ss. (24 dc)
Round 3: Chain 2, *dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc, continue from * around. Join with ss. (36 dc)
Round 4: Chain 2, * dc in first 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc, continue around from *. Join with ss. (48 dc)
Round 5: Chain 2, * dc in first 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, continue around from *. Join with ss. (60 dc)

Continue increasing each round in same fashion until dishcloth is size desired.
I did mine in 7 rounds.
